Mr. Stevens accompanied by Theodore Olsen, Ross Garrison, M Ipsen and E Matches left Montplier for Pocatello early Monday moring in a Studebaker touring car. Between McCammon and Inkom, while the car was traveling about 30 miles per hour, the driver lost control and it left the road and turned completely over. Stevens was riding in the front seat with the driver and was badly crushed about the head and body. The other four members of the party with the exception of Olsen received minor bruises.

All of the men were taken to Pocatello and after an examination it was found that Stevens was very badly injured, and despite every medical attention, the man passed away Monday. Mr. Stevens is survived by his wife and five children, all residing at Montpelier.
