FORMER PARIS POSTMASTER DIES
Graveside rites were held in Paris Wednesday afternoon, following funeral services in Magna, Utah for Herbert L Spencer, 72 who died Sunday in a Provo hospital of a heart ailment. Deceased was born in Paris on June 11, 1886 to George Boardman and Lenora Taylor Horne Spencer. He married Psyche den Engelse on June 13, 1913 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died January 14,1955 and he married Vera Collings Dalrymple on January 24, 1957 in the Salt Lake Temple. He had resided in Magna for the past two years.
Mr. Spencer was postmaster in Paris for 31
years. He fulfilled a mission to Holland and was a counselor in the Paris
Second Ward for 16 years. Survivors include his widow, three daughters and
three sons, Mrs. Aletta Jacobs and Ruth Spencer of Milbrae, California; and Mrs.
Charles (Irene) Wyler of Grace; Earl Spencer, Vista California; Lawrence H
Spencer, Portland Oregon and Orson L Spencer, Bloomington, as well as three
brothers, Joseph H and Seymour Spencer of Salt Lake City and Edwin Spencer of
Magna Utah.
