Death claimed Mr. J Mark Holmes, formerly Gwen Stephens and infant son here Thursday about 9 pm. Mrs. Holmes, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Stephens of Montpelier, formerly resided in Thatcher, Arizona. She was 29 years of age and was born in Montpelier. She graduated from the Montpelier high school with the class of 1926.
She is survived by her husband and three small daughters, Joyce, Dorothy and Peggy Jo; her parents, two sisters, Mrs. Vernon Bissegger and Eleanor Stephens, of Montpelier; five brothers, Owen, Carlyle, Arthur and Evan Stephens all of Montpelier, and Melvin Stephens of Rosedell, California.
Funeral services were held in the Third ward chapel Monday at noon with Bishop T Emery Mumford presiding. The invocation was by President Ed C rich; song, "I Know That My Redeemer Lives" choir; first speaker, Sidney E Burgoyne; song, "Oh My Father" choir and solo by Mrs. Lottie Grosjean; second speaker, Professor Chester J Myers of the UAC in Logan; solo, Mrs. Delilah Loveday; third speaker, Thomas Preston; violin solo, Arnold Tueller; fourth speaker, Elder Joseph F Smith; closing song, "Guide Me To Thee" benediction, President Silas L Wright. The grave was dedicated by Magnus Holmes.
