Geren V Howell, 66, formerly of Fish Haven, died Thursday in an Ogden, Utah, hospital following a short illness. He was born March 10, 1918, in Salem (Idaho) to William Alfred and Alice (Virgin) Howell. He married Liselotte Heitele June 10, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was an active member of the LDS Church and had served in many positions during his lifetime. He had filled a mission to Germany and the southern states.

He served in the Navy during World War II. He attended Ricks College and Utah State University and later taught school in Garden City, Utah; Ogden, Utah; and Paris Idaho. He is survived by his wife, Ogden; three daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Julia) Nelson, Mrs. Don (Naomi) Telford and Irene Howell, all of Salt Lake City; two sons Henry A Howell, Fish Haven; Harold E Howell, Ogden; 13 grandchildren; three brothers, Vearlee Howell, Donovan Howell and Leon Howell, all of Fish Haven; two sisters, Mrs. Don (Shirla) Fry, Bremerton, Wash. and Mrs. Earl (Rayola) Wheelwright, Richland, Wash.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 pm in the Bear Lake LDS Ward Chapel in Garden City, Utah. Friends may call on Saturday at the church in Garden City from 11 am until time of services. Burial will be in the Fish Haven Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Matthews Morutary, Montpelier.
