MONTPELIER CITY ATTORNEY DIES
 

G Staudacher, 42, prominent attorney, fraternal leader and World War II veteran, died at 8:05 pm Wednesday in the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital after a prolonged illness.  He was born February 17, 1914 at Prince Albert Saskatchewan, Canada.  Mr. Staudacher attended the University of Idaho at Moscow and received his degree in law from George Washington University in Washington DC. He started his practice in Seattle and continued his professional career at Driggs, where he served as city attorney.  He opened law offices in Montpelier after World War II. Mr. Staudacher served as Bear Lake county prosecuting attorney from March 1947 to January 12, 1953.  He was appointed Montpelier city attorney on July 7, 1950, a position he held at the time of his death.

Highly respected for his ethical standards and professional knowledge, Mr. Staudacher was a member of the Idaho State Bar association and Southeast Idaho Bar Association.  A veteran of the US Marine Corps, Mr. Staudacher was active in American Legion affairs and was past adjutant of Post 63.

Active in fraternal organizations Mr. Staudacher was a member of King County No 4, AF & AM Seattle; also Pocatello Scottish Rite Bodies and El Korah Temple, AAONMS Boise.  He belonged to the BPOE lodge at Sandpoint. Mr. Staudacher and Mittie Slocum were married June 13, 1953.  Besides his widow he is survived by a stepson, Grant and two daughters by a former marriage.

Services will be held at 2:30 pm Friday in the Community Church with the Rev Lincoln Anderson of Soda Springs conducting. Scottish Rite Rose Croix service will be conducted under the direction of R F Hamilton of Pocatello.  The Matthews Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
