Last Saturday morning the home of Nels Larson took fire from a defective flue and burned to the ground. Nothing was saved except a little bedding and the loss falls hard on brother Larson. His many friends sympathize with him and have been very liberal so far in assisting him with their means.

Sister Sarah Fretwell, an old lady, 88 years of age, would no doubt have lost her life had it not been for her grandson Richard Payne, who came to her rescue and assisted in keeping her from the burning building. She was struggling away trying to remove some of the things from the house and did not realize her danger.

George Hoff is making preparations for the erection of a new residence and will make this his home in the future.
