George Spiers, 59, former resident of Montpelier, died in Pocatello at 3 am Wednesday from a heart ailment. Mr. Spiers, a resident of Montpelier for 20 years during a part of which time he worked as a machinist in the local UP shops, was born in Tooele, Utah and spent his boyhood in Bennington.

In addition to his wife, Henrietta Danks Spiers, he is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Zella Quayle of Los Angeles; Mrs. Lorene Hansen of Dingle; Mrs. Lillias Meely, Bell, California; Mrs. Roma Hagemire, Los Angeles; Mrs. Leone Harris of Twin Falls; and Mrs. Mary Smith of Fish Haven; five sons, George Spiers Jr. of Bell California; Dale and Carl Spiers of Pocatello; Ralph Spiers of Laketown; and Harrison Spiers of Twin Falls; four brothers, W A Spiers, Montpelier; Charles Spiers Pocatello; Lorenzo Spiers, Bennington; Alvin Spiers, Bloomington; and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Stephens, Montpelier; Mrs. Jennie Jensen, Bear River Utah; and Mrs. Lily Wright, Bennington.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at one o'clock in the Montpelier Third ward chapel with burial in the Bennington cemetery.
