Another of the early practioneers with a natural flair for healing was George W Sirrine of Paris.  Sirrine served the community for seventeen years and was much sought after throughout the valley when a bone needed setting.

He prescribed remedies, prescriptions and concoctions that usually had the desired effect.  Sirrine kept a variety of his home remedies on hand.  One patient once said, "It is harder to take the cure than the disease but he sure did the job right. I am better now."  unfortunately most of the remedies used were not recorded and the science of them is now lost.  Sirrine was reported to have had remedies that eased gall bladder and gall stone attacks, soothed the pangs of appendicitis, cured diarrhea, constipation and many stomach ailments.  Many women sought his prescription to assist them in having easier deliveries.
