George McKay Pugmire

George Pugmire, who died at his home at St Charles, Idaho on March 3, was a son of Jonathan Pugmire and was born in Montrose, Lee, Iowa on March 31, 1846. He came west when a young man and was one of the two first white men to enter this valley, coming here in 1861. He passed through all the hard sh-- of pioneer life and did his full share toward developing this region. He was an industrious citizen and was highly esteemed.

He was married to Miss Maria Young in March 1866 and leaves a wife and eight children, the latter being grown and are namely, George, John, Brigham, Mrs. Mamie Parks, Mrs. Alice Gibbs, Lynn, Archie and Stella.

The funeral service was held in St Charles hall last Saturday, the speakers being Elders John A Hunt, J C Stewart, and E M Allred and Counselor Ole Tratstrum all of whom spoke in the highest terms of the deceased.
