George Bischoff, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Bischoff of Geneva died at 12 pm in a local hospital last Thursday of head injuries received when he was struck by an automobile while riding east on the Montpelier Geneva highway on a bicycle one and one-half miles west of Georgia. The driver of the care, E L Everton of Logan, traveling west at about 30 o4 40 miles an hour, according to information received from Tommy Cavanaugh, state patrolman, was going over the crest of a hill when he saw Bischoff at a distance of about 75 years, cycling on the wrong side of the road.
The driver of the car unable to stop on the down grade loose graveled road, turned to the wrong side in order to evade hitting Bischoff, what about the same time came in contact with the car as he was endeavoring to get back on the right side of the highway. The impact rendered him unconscious from 4 pm, the time of the accident until his death threw him about 30 feet. Ruby Bischoff, 16, the only witness, was cycling with her cousin, George; she avoid collision by remaining on the wrong side of the road. Officer Cavanaugh said the driver was not held responsible in any way.
In addition to his parents, the boy is survived by the following brothers and sisters; Claude Bischoff of Grace; Willis, Loraine, LaVerne, Archie, D'Orr, Douglas, Florence, Mary Jean and Gladys Bischoff, all of Geneva.
Funeral services were held in Geneva at 1 pm Sunday and interment was in the Geneva cemetery under the direction of the F M Williams Mortuary. Bishop Lyman Tueller presided at the services, which were opened with the choir singing "Though Deepening Trials" opening prayer, George H Hall. Speakers were Presidents Ed C Rich and Silas L Wright and Richard Sleight. Choir "Come Unto Jesus" and "Oh My Father" and a men's chorus "My Jesus As Thou Wilt" Benedicion by Wilford Richards.
