Geneva Boys
Montpelier Examiner, Friday, 22 February 1918, page 1
BOYS TO THE FRONT
Five Geneva boys who had successfully passed their examination
last Saturday, immediately enlisted in the infantry and left on Nov 18 Tuesday
afternoon for Camp Greene, Charlotte NC for training. Their names were:
J H and Louis Bleckert; A C Hillier, son of Mrs. Thomas Hillier; Lawrence Lashbrook, son of Theodore Lashbrook, and Charles Tueller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tueller, all of Geneva. Before leaving Geneva the boys were given a royal sendoff by a host of their friends there and when the train left Montpelier, taking them away to play their grim part in the great fight for humanity, a large number of friends, relatives and patriotic citizens were there to bid them "au revior" and wish them well in their new careers.
