Idaho Gem Mine

Paris Post, Friday, 11 December 1908, page 1

B F Woodward, manager and Adam Wilcox, of the Idaho Gem Mine at St Charles, were in this city Tuesday and reported a promising strike in that property. They had just uncovered a six foot vein of heavily mineralized ore. The vein is deeply stained with iron and seems to carry various metals. Mr. Woodward went on to Salt lake and will have samples of the dirt assayed.

There are now eight men employed in the mine. The shaft is down 200 feet and considerable drifting is being done. In one of these drifts the new find was uncovered which has excited the local mining rialto.

Mr. Woodward has largely recovered from the effects of his recent serious accident, in which he was struck by an ore bucket.
