FORMER RESIDENT BURIED IN BERN
 

Funeral services for Frederick Barfuss, 79, who died October 14 at Laramie, Wyoming, were held at 2 pm Friday in the Bern LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Dean Kunz conducting.  The opening song "Oh My Father" was by Mrs. Dean Kunz, Mrs. Paul Kunz and Mrs. Wendell Kunz; invocation Bishop Robert Schmid; speakers Parley Kunz and Mr. Quayle of Logan; song "Prayer Perfect" trio; benediction Able Kunz.

Interment was in the Bern Cemetery and the grave was dedicated by Alma Eschler of Logan.  Matthews Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.  Services were held last Thursday in Laramie.

Mr. Barfuss was born August 18, 1879 in Canton Berne, Switzerland.  He accompanied LDS missionaries to America in 1887 and lived at Bern until 1930 when he moved to Laramie.  He was a retired employee of Pacific Fruit Express.  He married Rosa Spring, June 1, 1911.  She preceded him in death on May 7, 1922.  A son, First Lieutenant Floyd S Barfuss was killed in World War II action in France on September 18, 1944.

Surviving are three children Mrs. Peter (Belva) Moleton of Laramie, Mrs. Floyd (Roxy) Phillips of Hot Springs, South Dakota and Einer F Barfuss of Fullerton, California; one sister Mrs. Elisa Johnson of Logan; one brother, Andrew Barfuss of Paris; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
