FORMER RESIDENT DIES IN POCATELLO

Franklin James French, 60, died at this home in Pocatello Monday after a short illness.  He was born June 18, 1894 in Montpelier where he lived until he went to Pocatello in 1923.  He worked as chief engine crew dispatcher on the Union Pacific Railroad. He married Marguerite Long of Montpelier in 1914.  She died in 1948 and he married Nadine Daley at Pocatello in June 1954. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Clerks and the Union Pacific Old Timers Club.

Survivors are his widow, a son Don French both of Pocatello; a sister Mrs. Joe Bowen of Long Beach California; and two brothes Van French, Montpelier and Charles Lee French also of Long Beach.

The funeral was held Wednesday at 2 pm at Downard Chapel with the Rev L M Dougherty of St Anthony Catholic Church officiating.  Interment was in Mountain View Cemetery under direction of the Downard Funeral Home.
