PARIS NOTES

Last week the pupils voted to name their school The Emerson. So it will be known hereafter as the Emerson school. The pupils of the upper grades have organized the Emerson Literary society which meets once every two weeks, when appropriate programs will be rendered.

The second session of Students Meeting convened in the Auditorium on Monday, Oct 19th. Besides the students, the higher department of the Emerson school under Principal J H Miles, Presidents J R Shepherd and W W Richards and sister Amy Cook of the Board; Brothers John Parker and Frank Beck, and Sisters James Davis and Sarah Serrine were in attendance.

The following pupils in Principal Thomander’s room at the Emerson school during the past month were neither absent or tardy; Veda Low, Bertha Tueller, Irene Holmes, in the 5th and 6th grades; Margie Bolton, Cora Law, Jean Low, Dora Roberts and Adeline Tueller in the 8th grade. Total enrollment.

The following pupils in Miss Stuart’s room at the Emerson school were neither absent nor tardy during the past month; Wilford Budge, George Sutton, Milford Law, Clyde Bramwell, Reed Bunn, Oneal Wilcox, Veron Thomander, Freddie Hoopsmith, Lorenzo Lewis.

The following students from Mr. Spencer’s room have not been tardy or absent during the last month; Edwin Shepherd, Annie Shepherd, Wallace Wallentine, Elzo Humpherys, Lyman Roberts. One student, Edwin Shepherd, has not been either tardy or absent since school commenced, while some other has three or four months of such attendance and punctuality to their credit.

Last Wednesday the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th grades visited the power plant in Paris canyon.

The following students in the fifth and sixth grades passed the monthly examination with an average of 90 per sent; Irene Holmes 94, Viola Bramwell 94, Libbie Sutton 92, Thomas Sutton 93, Edna Wiler 92, Emma Innes 90, Geraint Humphreys 91, Annie Shepherd 90, Ira Hayward 90, Abraham Tueller 91, Wallace Wallentine 91.

Seymour Spencer has been appointed principal of the Paris district school in place of D T Thomander. Jesse P Rich has been appointed to teach Mr. Spencer's former classes. The following students were neither absent nor tardy in Miss Stuart's department at the Emerson school during the last month.

The doors of the Emerson school will be thrown open next Monday morning and the old familiar school bell will ring once more calling the young scholars of Paris to their studies again. A list of the following teachers:
