SERVICES ARE HELD IN BLOOMINGTON
Mrs. Elva T Patterson, 70, of Bloomington died Monday morning, following a short illness at the home of her daughter and son in law, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Bingham in Burley. She had been visiting with them for about two months. She was born September 16, 1885 a daughter of George H and Mahala Welker Thornock at Bloomington. She attended school at Bloomington and the Fielding Academy. She was married to Joseph P Patterson in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, April 12, 1905. Mr. Patterson preceded her in death February 22, 1955. To this union were born seven daughters and three sons. One infant son died soon after birth.
Mrs. Patterson lived all her life in Bloomington. She was an active member of the LDS Church having served in the presidency of both the Relief Society and Primary, as well as various teaching capacities. She was a visiting teacher at the time of her death.
Surviving are the following children; Mrs. Claude (Della) Bingham of Burley, Mrs. Lavon (Norma) Sprouse of Garden City, Mrs. Lester (Lola) Skinner and Mrs. Davis (Virtue) Wallentine of Nounan, Joseph H Patterson of Emmett, George E Patterson of Lewisville, Mrs. Eugene (Aleene) Humphries of Rupert, Mrs. Arvis (Vyonne) Edmondson of Paul and mrs. George (Barbara) Hulme of Paris; also 28 grandchildren and three great grandchildren; the following sisters, Mrs. William Bee and Mrs. Doyle Nelson of Bloomington, Mrs. Gordon Windley of Pocatello, Mrs. Leonard Burrows of Brigham City, Utah and one brother, Wilford M Thornock of Ogden.
Funeral services will be held in the
Bloomington ward chapel at 2 o'clock Friday, February 3. Friends and
relatives may call at the home Thursday afternoon and evening and Friday until
time for the service. The Matthews Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
