VETERAN'S HOSPITAL
Ellsworth Robinson, 48, died May 1 in the Veteran's Hospital Salt Lake City, following an extended illness. He was born December 11, 1910 at Evanston, Wyoming, the son of the late George G Robinson and Mary Parkinson. Accompanying his family to Montpelier in January 1919 Mr. Robinson had since lived here. He attended the local schools and was an employee of the Union Pacific Railroad. He was a member of the LDS Church, LOOM Salt Lake City Lodge No 259 and Post 63 American Legion.
A World War II veteran he entered the service June 17, 1942 and was discharged as a sergeant January 14, 1946 at Fort Lewis, Washington. He served in the South and Western Pacific theatres of operations. His father preceded him in death May 11, 1946. Besides his mother who resides in Montpelier, he is survived by four brothers, George W Robinson of Pocatello, Charles P Robinson of Hagerman, Herschel and Carl Robinson of Montpelier.
Bishop Leland J Muir conducted funeral services Tuesday in the Second ward chapel. Prelude and postlude were played by Mrs. Pamela Hayes, who was also accompanist. The invocation was by John Ochsenbein; vocal selection "Whispering Hope" Singing Mothers; remarks Bishop Muir; vocal duet "In the Garden" Mrs. Deon Larsen and Boyd Smart; speaker Bishop Alvin C Tueller; vocal selection, "Not Now But in the Coming Years" Singing Mothers; benediction Lloyd Messerly.
Prayer at the mortuary was by Lloyd Derricott.
Dedication of the grave in the Montpelier cemetery was by Bishop Byron E Mumford.
The pall bearers were Joe Howard, Sherman Burgoyne, Richard Hughes, Al Linder,
Lyle Hayes and Merlin Dunn. Military rites were conducted by Post 63,
American Legion. The Matthews Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
