Montpelier Examiner, Thursday, 10 May 1923, page 1
WELL KNOWN
The home of John S Heggie was entered by the grim reaper Monday
and deprived of a wife and mother, when Mrs. Heggie passed away after suffering
intensely for more than two years with cancer. Of late Mrs. Heggie's condition
had been very serious and death seemed to be but a matter of time. She made a
brave struggle for life until Monday when she passed away peacefully at three pm
in the afternoon.
Mrs. Heggie had resided in Montpelier for many years and was well known by most people in the city and was active in various public capacities before her health failed her. Surviving Mrs. Heggie are a husband and the following children, Mrs. Lottie Bissegger of Wardboro, Mrs. Celia Stephens, Misses Maud and Nettie and Tracy Heggie.
Funeral services were held yesterday in the First ward chapel at 2 pm and interment was in the city cemetery.
