FUNERAL SERVICE HELD SUNDAY

 

Funeral services were held in the Community Church Sunday, November 18, for the late Mrs. Eleanor Allen Staley, with Rev John F Pipps in charge.

Mrs. E H Humphreys and Mrs. B E Mumford sang "Whispering Hope" accompanied on the violin by A E Carleton. The choir sang, "I'm a Pilgrim" and "Abide with Me". The text of the sermon was "I've Done my Work, I've Fought the Fight and kept the Faith."

Interment was made in the Montpelier Cemetery. Mrs. Staley was the widow of the late Stephen B Staley and had resided in Montpelier for more than fifty years. She was born in Balderton, Ontario, Canada, March 18, 1855. Mrs. Staley was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church and and a charter member of the local Rebekah lodge. She suffered a stroke on November 1, while visiting in Burley and passed away at the hospital there Wednesday, November 14, 1934.

Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. George Sturman, Pocatello; Mrs. Marjorie Eyman, San Francisco; Mrs. John Rasmussen, Ontario, Canada; Mrs. R E Wheelan, Burley; one son Lester Staley of Pocatello, and a stepson W G Staley of Merced Falls, California; two brothers, William Allan of Perth, Ontario, Canada, and Norman Allan of Wellsville, Utah, also seven grandchildren, Lloyd Lehrbas of Washington DC; Mark Lehrbas of New Orleans; Mrs. Eleanor Lutz of Salt Lake City; Boyd Rasmussen and Miss Marie Rasmussen, Ontario, Oregon; Mrs. Jay Meredith, Merced Falls, California and Grant Staley, Montpelier.
