Ed Munk

The Montpelier Examiner, November 7, 1913

We have received but few individual reports on the yields of grain in Bear Lake Valley this year, but the general reports are to the effect that the yields have been good, while the quality of the grain is the best in the world. Ed Munk, who bought the Frank Wright ranch at Bennington last spring, is one of the many farmers of the valley who has harvested splendid crops from five acres of oats he threshed better than 255 bushels.

Mr. Munk had in 20 acres of dry farm wheat, which returned him 800 bushels.  He also put up a 175 tons of alfalfa which is worth at least $700 in the stack.  Mr. Munk also obtained good results from his cows.  He milked ten during the summer and the net returns from them for a little less than five months was $288 or an average of a little over $55 a month.
