Derricott Hollow
Information comes from Treasured Tidbits of Time Volume I by Jens Patrick Wilde
Derricott Hollow cuts off Mill Canyon back of Sharon. It got that name when a member of the Derricott family tipped a load of timber in the area.
Originally it was referred to as Cabin Hollow after an early lean-to constructed there by John Snider, the first known trapper in the area in the 1860s.
