LIFELONG PARIS RESIDENT DIES
Delbert L Hess, 65, lifelong resident of Paris, died at 8 pm Friday in the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital. Mr. Hess had been in ill health for several years. The son of Jacob and Hannah Thornock Hess, he was born October 13, 1890 at Bloomington. He was married to Zelpha Kelsey and two children were born to the union, one of whom, a daughter, died in infancy.
Surviving are a son Sgt. Verl D Hess of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; two brothers, Milford N Hess of Filer and R A Hess of Seattle; two sisters Mrs. John Bateman of Logan and Mrs. Joseph Linford of Afton; and one granddaughter.
Services were held at 1:30 pm Wednesday in the Paris First ward chapel with Bishop Morris Athay conducting. The prelude and postlude were played by Mrs. Leonora Stucki and the prayer at home was offered by Fred J Price. The opening song "Abide With Me" was by John Spencer and Mrs. Stucki, accompanied by Mrs. Darlene Rich; invocation Joseph Linford; remarks Bishop Athay; speaker J Vivian Nye; song "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" duet; benediction Dallas Athay.
Interment was in the Paris cemetery and the
grave was dedicated by Ferris Hess. Pall bearers were Jesse Scheidegger,
John Stocker, Clarence Rich, Leo Mattson, Wayne Nye and Hugh Rich. The
Matthews Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
