David H Skinner of Montpelier was killed almost instantly Tuesday night about twenty minutes to sever when a car driven by E J Millikan of California struck his parked car from the rear. Mr. Skinner was cranking his automobile when the accident occurred on the highway west of Montpelier. The cause of Mr. Skinner's death was believed to be a deep fracture of the skull. Mrs. Skinner, who was in the car when the crash came, is in the Montpelier hospital suffering from badly injured forearms and chest. She is badly bruised as well as shaken. Both automobiles were wrecked.
Mr. Skinner is survived by his wife and nine children, Charles Skinner of Montpelier; Mrs. Mary Dorney of Dingle; Mrs. Goldie Chugg of Soda Springs; Herman, Clifford, Evelyn, Esther, Dorothy and Betty Skinner all of Montpelier; also seven sisters; Mrs. Arv Monroe, Mrs. Alvin Monroe and Mrs. Hyrum Foster all of Eight Mile, Mrs. Pete Thompson of Soda Springs, Mrs. Heber Crane of Riverton, Utah; Mrs. Fred Shiffman of Logan; and Mrs. Ren Anderson of Smithfield, Utah. Six grandchildren are surviving.
Mr. Skinner was born in Nounan on May 3, 1886 and had lived in Bear Lake county the fifty-one years of his life. Funeral services will be held Sunday in the Second Ward chapel. A coroner' s in quest for investigation of the accident is being held today. At the time of going to press, no decision had been reached.
