SERVICES HELD FOR DAVID BUHLER
 

David Buhler, 67, Bern resident, died Saturday in the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital of a heart ailment. He was born December 13, 1888 in Montpelier, the son of Christian and Elizabeth Bartschi Buhler. He resided at Bern most of his life, receiving his elementary education there and attending Fielding Academy at Paris, Brigham Young College High School, Logan and the USAC at Logan.

Mr. Buhler served as a missionary for the LDS Church in the Southern States from 1915 to 1917. Her served in the Bern ward bishopric and the Sunday School superintendence for several years.  At the time of his death he was a member of the High Priest Quorum in the Montpelier Stake.  He married Rebecca Kunz, August 15, 1917 in the LDS Temple in Salt Lake City.

Surviving besides his widow are five sons; Darwin D and Loraine M Buhler both of Pocatello, James D Buhler of Orinda California, Dr. Calvin Buhler of Salt Lake City and Dr. Ronald E Buhler of Chicago Illinois.  He is also survived by five brothers and sisters, Walter C Buhler of Montpelier, Elmer W Buhler of Bern, Mrs. Lizzie Alleman of Montpelier, Mrs. Rose Taylor of Oakland, California and Mrs. Sarah Anderson of Salt Lake City and 18 grandchildren.

Services were held at 1 pm Tuesday in the Bern Ward Chapel with Bishop Delmar Kunz officiating. he opening song "Oh My Father" was by a trio comprised of Mrs. Dean Kunz, Mrs. Paul Kunz and Mrs. Clair Kunz, accompanied by Mrs. Earl Johnson; invocation Bishop Wyler Bartschi; obituary Bishop Kunz; vocal solo "Going Home" Max Haddock, accompanied by Mrs. Lester Armatage; speakers, Bishop Robert Schmid and Willard Nelson of Ogden; vocal solo "Whispering Hope" President Winslow Swensen, accompanied by Lillas Swensen; speaker President Lewis Munk; song "The Lord IS My Shepherd" trio; benediction Howard Buhler of Darby Montana. The prayer at home was offered by Morris Kunz of Salt Lake City.

Interment was in the Bern cemetery and the grave was dedicated by Walter Buhler.  Pall bearers were Darwin D, James D, Lorained M, Calvin, Ronald E and Walter Buhler.  The Matthews Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
