Chris and Joe Olson
The News-Examiner, September 25, 1914
During the heavy electrical storm which covered portions of the valley last Saturday night, lightning struck and killed two horses belonging to James Poulsen of Liberty. Jesse McMurray of the same place also lost about 30 tons of hay the stack being set on fire by lighting.
White Chris and Joe Olson were standing on the porch at their home in Ovid watching the fire at the McMurray home, lightning came very nearly putting Chris out of commission. That he was not killed seems almost a miracle. The last which rendered him unconscious for five minutes or more, burned a place about the size of a silver dollar on the crown of his head.
