FISH HAVEN
On Friday night, Sept 4th at 9:30, Sister Charlotte C Howell
passed away to the great beyond, after a lingering illness which lasted several
months.
She leaves a husband and t children, the youngest 2 years old, to mourn her loss. She was beloved by all who knew her. The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 pm. The congregation consisted of relatives and friends from very near all over the valley and also some from Star Valley.
We were blessed with some good speakers on this occasion; viz; Presidents J R Shepherd and Wm L Rich. Bp. E M Pugmire of St Charles, Elder Amasa Rich of Paris and Elder E N Scofield. The last named was the first speaker who struck the key note for the following beautiful discourses; which was the duty we all owe to the children who are left without a mother's care, to set good examples before them that they may grow up in the knowledge of the gospel.
Every speaker dwelt upon the faithful ness of Sister Howell and exhorted all to emulate the good example she has set. We were also favored with a quartet from 4 ladies from St Charles, the selection being "God Be With You Til We Meet Again" which was very appropriate and very beautifully rendered.
At the close of the meeting a large cortege followed the remains to the cemetery, which consisted of 32 vehicles. The grave was dedicated by Counselor C C Shirley.
