RITES ARE HELD FOR CHARLES F ROGERS
 

Charles F Rogers, 72, long time Paris resident and retired painter and contractor, died at 8 am Friday in the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital of a lingering illness.  He was born August 27, 1887 in San Francisco and moved to Paris when a young man.  He was a member of the LDS Church. Mr. Rogers and Lucile Low were married November 3, 1909 in the Logan LDS Temple.  Surviving besides his widow are three daughters, Mrs. Pierce B (Helen) Nelson of San Leandro, California, Mrs. Ralph (Norma) Roghaar of Paris, Mrs. DuWayne (Avon) Arnell of Montpelier; six grandchildren, one sister Mrs. Jesse P Rich of Logan and one brother, Clarence Rogers of Alhambra, California. A son, Scott, preceded him in death at the age of 12.

Services were held at 1:30 pm Monday in the Paris LDS Second ward chapel with Bishop Clifford G Price conducting.  The opening song "Oh My Father" was by a quartet comprised of Mrs. VanNess Wallentine, Wayne Budge, Mrs. Velma Hansen and Floyd Lewis; invocation T Jefferson Dunford; remarks Bishop Price; vocal solo "Open the Gates of the Temple" Mrs. Dean Larsen; speaker, Bishop O H Grimmett; vocal solo "In the Garden" Lothair Rich, accompanied by Mrs. T Jefferson Dunford; speaker, President Fred J Price; vocal solo "Oh Dry Those Tears" Jane Dunn, accompanied by Joyce Johnson; benediction Bishop Taft P Budge.  The prayer at home was offered by Bishop John Roghaar of Salt Lake City. Opal Shepherd played the prelude and postlude.

Interment was in the Paris cemetery and the grave was dedicated by Jesse P Rich of Logan. Matthews Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
