FORMER RESIDENT
Charles H Brown, 69 years of age, died yesterday at 850
Wilmington avenue (Salt Lake City). He was born November 1, 1851 in Scotland and
lived in Liberty Idaho for thirty-five years until a year ago. He was the son of
James Brown, known in the early days as Salt Lake confectioner, and Mrs. Isabel
Hogg Brown. The body may be viewed from 5 pm this afternoon until 8 pm tonight,
at the Joseph William Taylor undertaking establishment. The body will be sent
tomorrow morning to Liberty where funeral services and interment will take
place.
Charles H Brown was a former resident of Bear Lake county, where for more than 40 years he made his home, being a successful rancher in the Liberty district. Mr. Brown was well-known here and was active in public life. He was fond of purebred animals and specialized on the best breeds of horses, sheep and cattle, and in this respect the ranch of Brown Brothers, sons of the deceased, today stands as a testimonial to the judgment of Mr. Brown.
After leaving Bear Lake county Mr. Brown moved to Blackfoot and a year ago last fall bought a home in Salt Lake City, where he resided up to the time of his death. Mr. Brown is survived by his widow, five sons and two daughters. They are James F Brown, of Bancroft; Mrs. C A Hoover of Blackfoot; Mrs. J H Yearsley of Menan, C H Brown Jr. of Twin Falls; Fergus Brown of Montpelier and W W Brown and F M Brown of Liberty.
Funeral services were held Wednesday in Liberty where interment also took place.
