Death claimed the life of Cecil Shepherd of Paris last Saturday in Montpelier following a short illness. The cause of his death was uremia poisoning. Mr. Shepherd who was 48, died at 9 am.

He was born in Paris May 12, 1889 and had spent most of his life there. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Alice Shepherd and his daughter Lucille; also by his mother, Mrs. Hattie Shepherd of Paris; seven brothers and sisters, George E Shepherd of Montpelier; Lawrence Shepherd of Paris; R T Shepherd of Torrance, California; Allen Shepherd, Montpelier; Marguerite Shepherd, Montpelier; Mrs. Myrtle Williams of Liberty; and Mrs. Hattie Schramm of Payson Utah.

Funeral services were held in Paris Wednesday at 1 pm. The following program was given; opening prayer, Edwin T Shepherd; song "Sometime We'll Understand" quartet consisting of Wilford Budge, Taft Budge, Mrs. Lamont Passey and Mrs. Hugh Shepherd; speakers Bishop William R Morgan of Liberty and Bishop Albert Miller of Sharon; trio, Mrs. Herbert Spencer, Mrs. Orson Grimmett and Mrs Archie Shepherd; speakers Alfred Shepherd and F M Williams; the closing son was sung by the quartet and S E Hymas offered the closing prayer. Mr. Shepherd was laid to rest in the Paris cemetery and the grave was dedicated by S S Humphrey of Shelley.
