Casper Adelbert Hale

The Paris Post, Friday, 19 March 1909, page 1

We gave an account in the last week's Independent of the accident which occurred to Casper Hale while at work logging in the Dry Creek Canyon and of his resulting severe sickness. He was brought to his parent's home as that was the nearest place and fearing to give his mother fright by seeing him carried in, he pulled himself together and insisted on walking in.

The accident occurred a week ago Wednesday and he commenced to spit blood the following day. On Saturday night he spent an encouraging night and was in an improved condition Sunday, but after that time it was apparent that he was struggling against fate. On Tuesday he was restless all night and the end came Wednesday afternoon at one o'clock.

Caper Adelbert Hale, son of A Lu and Eliza Ann Hale, was at St Charles, Idaho on 11 December 1886 and came to Star Valley in June of 1886 (sic) He was married to Matilda May Thurman 1 July 1903 and leaves a wife and three children, the youngest two years and the eldest four years and eleven months.

The deceased was well respected by all who knew him and was a sincere and devoted Latter-day Saint. He was ordained a seventy in August of last year.  The funeral will be held on Saturday at eleven o'clock am.
