RITES HELD FOR ST CHARLES MAN
 

Bert Bunderson, 66, prominent St Charles dairyman, died at 11 pm April 30 in the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital following an illness of several weeks.  The son of Boon and Mary Hansen Bunderson, he was born June 14, 1891 in St Charles.  A life long resident of St Charles, Mr. Bunderson took great pride in his purebred herd of registered  Holsteins.  He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as superintendent of Sunday Schools of the Bear Lake Stake and St Charles Ward for a number of years.  He was president of the Sixth Quorum of Seventies and also the Bear Lake Stake mission.  Mr. Bunderson took great interest in genealogical research and temple work.  At the time of death he was a member of the Stake High Council.  He was also vice president of the St Charles Irrigation Company.

Mr. Bunderson and Almira Findlay were married June 11, 1914 in the LDS Temple, Salt Lake.  Surviving besides his widow are three children; D'Orr Bunderson and Elzo Bunderson of St Charles, and Mrs. David (Veda) Weeks of Smithfield, Utah.  Also surviving are his step-mother, Mrs. Boon Bunderson of Montpelier, two brothers, Hervin Bunderson of Brigham City and James Bunderson of St Charles; eight sisters, Mrs. George (Clarissa) Ward and Mrs. Alma (Inez) Findlay, both of Bloomington; Mrs. Ernest (May) Bowman and Mrs. Cloyd (Rula) Minor, both of St Charles, Mrs. DeVirl (Virginia) Whittington of Garden City, June Bunderson, Mrs. Lloyd (Velma) Schofield and Mrs. Durwood (Elaine) Perkins all of Montpelier, and 10 grandchildren.

Services were held at 1 pm Monday in the St Charles Ward chapel with Arlo Rasmussen officiating.  The opening song was "Jesus Lover of My Soutl" was by the choir; invocation Arlin Pugmire; speaker President L Burdette Pugmire; vocal duet Mr. and Mrs. Whitney Transtrum; speaker Amos B Hulme; song "Oh My Father" Bloomington quartet; remarks Bishop Lovell Booth; song "Abide With Me Tis Eventide" choir; benediction Bishop Lothair Rich.  The prayer at the home was offered by David Weeks.  Opal Pugmire played the prelude and postlude.

Interment was in the St Charles cemetery and the grave was dedicated by Hervin Bunderson.  Pall bearers were Ben Bunderson, Grand Bunderson, Ross Bunderson, Lavell Ward, Dean War and Leroy Ward.  The Matthews Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
