Asa Ray Jensen, 65, life time resident of Ovid, passed away in his sleep sometime during the night of December 23rd at his home. Mr. Jensen had been in apparent good health that evening before retiring. Deceased was the son of Lars Peter Jensen and the late Margaret Hymas, born April 15, 1892 in Ovid, where he spent his entire life engaged in farming. His wife, Venice Johnson, died a number of years ago.
Survivors beside his father are six daughters, Mrs. Lamont Griffen and Mrs. Darrell Wood of Logan, Mrs. Don Humburg of Dingle, Mrs. Gerald Hidalgo of Border, Mrs. C D Creger of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Samuel Ortalani of Cleveland Ohio, three sons, Clifford of Montpelier, LeGrand of Dingle and Darwin of Ovid, four sisters Mrs. Arthur Peterson of Soda Springs, Mrs. Kenneth Matthews and Mrs. Tim Matthews of Liberty and Mrs. Ed Closner of Montpelier, five brothers, William of Paris, Telbert, Albert, Von and Wesley of Ovid, also 12 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 11 am in Ovid ward chapel with Bishop James Olsen conducting. Interment took place in Ovid Cemetery with Bishop Kenneth Matthews dedicating the grave. Matthew Mortuary of Montpelier was in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services for Asa Ray Jensen, 55, who died December 23,
1947, were held at 11 am Saturday in the Ovid LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop James
Olsen conducting. The opening song, "I Need Thee Every Hour" was by a mixed
quartet composed of Mrs. Leonora Stucki, Mrs. Darleen Rich, John Spencer and
Lyman Smart.
Invocation Peter Nielson, speaker Bishop Oliver Peterson, vocal duet "Abide with Me" Mr. and Mrs. James Olsen, with Mrs. Lester Armatage as accompanist, speaker Clarence Lindsay song "Nearer My God to Thee"; quartet; benediction Alvin Beck. Interment was in the Ovid Cemetery and the grave was dedicated by Bishop Kenneth Matthews. The Matthews Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
