Arthur F Parker Jr. died Saturday at 11:30 of blood poisoning and
complications. Funeral services were conducted December 24 from the LDS Ward
Chapel with Bishop Lee S Nebeker officiating. Speakers were John Taylor and
Lyman Fearn of Rock Springs and O T Parker of Montpelier.
The LDS Choir sang "Sometime We'll Understand" and Mrs. Frank Stevens sang a vocal solo, "In the Sweet Bye and Bye". There were two vocal solos by Martin Botero of Rock Springs, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "End of a Perfect Day". Interment was in Riverview Cemetery.
Mr. Parker, 60, was born 19 September 1887 at Liberty. He came to Green River 45 years ago to accept employment with the Union Pacific railroad, 26 years of which he has been a machinist. He was married 21 years ago on his birthday anniversary. He was a member of Woodmen of the World and Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Parker, one son, Wayne Parker of Jamestown, Pennsylvania, three brothers, all of whom were here for the services. Albert of Montpelier, Clifford of Pondosa, Oregon; and Lloyd of Portland Oregon; five sisters, Mrs. Guy Davis, Maywood California, Mrs. Harold Andreason, Oakland California, Mrs. Daisy Bartchery, Kelso, Washington, and Mrs. Darrel Wilson, Portland, Oregon.
