FORMER ST CHARLES RESIDENT DIES
 

Mrs. Annie Staniforth Keetch, 90 died Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hyrum Nebeker in Logan following a brief illness.  Mrs. Keetch was born in St Charles, January 12, 1868.  Her parents Jonathan Pugmire Jr. and Mary Staniforth were among the first settlers in Bear Lake Valley, having been called in 1864 to settle here.  On November 18, 1890 at the Logan LDS Temple, she was married to Elijah C Keetch, also of St Charles and it was there that they made their home.  In November 1940 they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.  Mr. Keetch died February 22, 1948.

Mrs. Keetch was the mother of six children, one child dying in infancy.  Surviving are Mrs. John (Hortense) Rich and Mrs. Nephi (Iola) Bunderson, both of St Charles, Mrs. Hyrum (Louise) Nebeker of Logan with whom Mrs. Keetch had lived for a number of years.  Mrs. Hugh (Edna) Morgan of Liberty, and Rulon Keetch of Oildale California; 16 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Keetch was an active member of the LDS Church and served in several of the auxiliary organizations.  She was a faithful Relief Society visiting teacher for 40 years and a member of the Mary Windley Camp of Daughters of Utah Pioneers.  Until two years ago she was active in genealogical and temple ordinance work.  She was loved and respected by all she knew and admired for her cheerful optimistic disposition and kind generous and unselfish nature.

Funeral services will be held at the St Charles ward chapel Saturday at 2 pm with burial in the St Charles cemetery.  Friends may call at the family home in St Charles Friday from 7 to 9 pm and Saturday from 11 am until the time of the services.
