FUNERAL SERVICES HELD IN LIBERTY
Mrs. Annie E Wilcox Findlay, 89 of Lanark died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J R Hymas, 411 North Arthur, Pocatello, November 28, following complications of a broken hip suffered October 9 at her home. She was born July 8, 1868 at Paris, the daughter of Miner and Julia Ann Allred Wilcox. She married Brigham Hugh Findlay in the LDS Temple Logan. Mr. Findlay died November 23, 1940.
She was always an ardent church worker in Primary, Relief Society and genealogy. Mrs. Findlay served in the relief Society of the Lanark Ward, first as secretary, then counselor and president for five years.
Surviving are five children Asa L and LaVerne Findlay of Mapleton Oregon, James Earl Findlay of Lanark, Mrs. L W Jensen of Paris and Mrs. J R Hymas of Pocatello; 14 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. Also surviving are four brothers Asa W and Ernest Wilcox of Nampa, Dr. Miner Wilcox of Ogden and Elmer Wilcox of Paris; and two sisters Mrs. Thomas Sparks of Los Angeles and Mrs. E D Hymas of Paris.
Services were held at 1 pm Monday in the Liberty Ward Chapel with Bishop Warren Passey conducting. The opening song "Oh My Father" was by a quartet comprised of Edna Eborn, Hilda Parker, Norman Roberts and Stanley Morgan, accompanied by Mrs. W K Matthews; invocation, Bishop Marvin Hymas; speaker Bishop Passey; song "Jesus Savior Pilot Me" by a quartet comprised of Leonora Stucki, Velma Hansen, Irene Wyler and Darlene Rich; speaker, President W K Matthews; speaker Bishop E D Hymas; song "One Sweetly Solemn Thought" ladies quartet accompanied by Thelma Tippetts; speaker Harold Hymas; song "I Need Thee Every Hour" mixed quartet; benediction Archie Parker. The prayer at the home was offered by John Rigby.
Interment was in the Paris cemetery and the
grave was dedicated by A Wilcox. The Matthews Mortuary was in charge of
arrangements.
