DIES MONDAY IN MONTPELIER
 

Agnes Parker Toomer, 87, died at 12:30 pm Monday at her home in Montpelier.  The daughter of John and Ann Hubbard Parker, she was born August 8, 1870 in Leicestershire, England.  She accompanied her parents to America in 1878, living first in Liberty. She married James Toomer Jr. on October 13, 1887 in the LDS Temple at Logan.  The family moved to Lanark in 1893 where Mrs. Toomer resided for 62 years before coming to Montpelier nearly three years ago.

She was an active member of the LDS Church and participated in various ward organizations.  Her husband died January 1, 1906 and she was also preceded in death by three sons.

Surviving are four daughters and two sons, Mrs. ALma M (Laura) Poulsen of Liberty, William P Toomer of Rigby, Mrs. Lillian Cook of Montpelier, Mrs. Cyril G (Myrtle) Dayton of Dingle, Alfred Lee Toomer of Montpelier and Mrs. Harlan P (Agnes) Eborn of Lanark; 36 grandchildren, 68 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Services were held at 1 pm today (Thursday) in the Montpelier Second ward chapel and interment was in the Lanark cemetery.  The Matthews Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
